Nadia smiled a bit acerbically to herself when she turned away. This was one hostile lady. "Named after the flower?" She asked politely, making conversation.
She eased herself into one of her chairs, shoulders relaxed, legs crossed, the picture of a woman at ease. A woman enjoying the company of a friend. It wasn't all an act either. Lily looked tense, furtive being here. While she might look like she was dying for a fight of some kind, Nadia wasn't going to give her one. She liked witty verbal assaults more than most people, mostly because she didn't take them personally. And she always ended up getting what she wanted out of other people. But she didn't take too kindly to people baiting her successfully and Lily looked like she might be very good at that. So for now Nadia would be bright-eyed, polite and deaf to insults thrown her way.
Still, Lily's reactions when she ate her guacamole made Nadia genuinely happy. She wasn't made of stone. "I'm glad you like it! I haven't made any in a while so I wasn't sure if it came out well. Do you take sugar in your espresso?"
