Caminó y caminó, y tuvo tres encuentros: a un hombre mayor que ella que la llamó abuela, un perro atrapado en un arbusto, y un espantapájaros con cabeza de nabo que estaba boca abajo. Liberó al perro y puso al espantapájaros derecho. También consiguió una vara gruesa y firme que le sirviera como bastón. Finalmente llegó a un castillo.
