El muérdago es una planta semiparásita de tallos articulados verdes. Era sagrado para los antiguos druidas, un bien para todo mal, físico o mágico. Se utilizaba con profusión en las festividades asociadas al final del año celta, con la aparición del cristianismo siguió siendo considerado un buen augurio, pero su fuerte simbología pagana hizo que cayera en desuso, salvo en lo que se refiere a la tradición "romántica"...
