accidental video + action (backdated to July 2nd)
[The feed clicks on with a crash, before the muffled voice of “Call the bridge!” sounds from somewhere. There are more footsteps, then the sounds of a struggle before the feed ends as abruptly as it began.]
action;
[When Khan stumbled out of brig's tiny restroom, soap and blood dripping from his mouth, the guards outside the glass reacted exactly as he thought they would. The way he moved about like he'd lost control filled the two young security personal with such obvious worry that it only took them two seconds to call the bridge. Khan stumbled to the glass; everything was fake except the way his eyes watered (biting his tongue till it bled to mix the blood with the soap had hurt more than he was used to, and the stuff tasted foul), but there was no doubt his ruse had worked. He fell against the glass, then to the floor just in time for the first of the two men to open it.
Khan had deliberately waited until the these two specific guards (Doyle and Haynes were their names, he'd learned) were on duty; the two most dim-witted of all the security chosen to look after him, as far as he could tell. And he was good at reading people. The things they talked about, the fact that they would occasionally react when he spoke to either of them (the others never would), and their frequent tiredness were all giveaways. They were the night shift, which he'd picked up from among their rather unintelligent complaints and chattering.
They were so predictable that when Haynes opened the cell to step inside, he neglected to remove the phaser from his belt, even as he knelt on the floor to inspect the Augment.
That was his first, and last, mistake. Eyes snapping open, Khan lunged upward, smashing his fist into Haynes' throat, a particularly painful blow that sent the man falling back, trying to breathe. It took Khan only a split second to relieve him of his phaser. He aimed and fired one shot, easily stunning Doyle before he had a chance to raise his weapon. He had suspected, but now it became obvious, that neither of these men had seen actual combat before. And if they had, it probably wasn't much.
While Haynes was still winded on the floor, groaning in pain, Khan got to his feet, wiping his mouth of the blood and soap with his free hand. He remained completely unaware of the fact that his phone had activated during his fall earlier and then been deactivated when he moved and got up.
He resisted the brief temptation to kick the man in the ribs, and simply settled for stunning him with the phaser instead. He wanted to very much to kill both of these men, if only because he'd been forced to listen to their inane chatter for several nights on end, and because it would punish Kirk for thinking he could imprison him.
But he didn't get much opportunity to ponder it further before he spun round and shot the two guards who entered the room next. Well, there was no good, justifiable reason to kill any of them just now, but that would no doubt change if Kirk tried to send more people after him. He had more important things to do than contend with such annoyances.
He ran for the door and out into the empty hall beyond. It took him only a moment to decider to head for the shuttle bay, as the transporters would be more easily tracked.]
(OOC: Responses to any replies he gets to the accidental broadcast will be a couple hours after the escape.)
