"Try is all that I ask…" She smiled as he spoke of trying to not judge the world and the tone of his was promising, he obviously was a kind and understanding person because Wyatt was promoting such values as he spoke of her family and evening when she might speak with them on the matter of her attacking and just as she was about to comment on his sister Beth's cell phone began to ring and she scrambled to shut it off until she discovered that the caller was her brother.
"Excuse me" she apologized, flipping open her phone and turning her attention to her brother, but it was the sound coming from her mother in the background, wailing and begging for them to do something, that was all that Beth could hear and her mouth fell open as the tears began to fall before she knew what was happening next.
Nothing felt real, nothing felt fair right now, and her hope was lying on the floor in her childhood home having a heart attack while her mother lost control and her brother yelled for her to come home. She stood there, back against the far wall of the library, and holding a phone without a recipient on the other end. Her brother had hung up long ago but the sound of her mother and the EMS team working continued to ring in her ears. There were no words and though she knew that she should be moving now, working to get a flight home, sending an email to her professors, something… anything, Beth could only stand there, shell shocked and praying for a miracle while fearing the worst, the tears falling just the same as they had while her brother spoke to her, and she just stood there… frozen.
What more must I endure father, how many times must my heart break before the pain stops. How am I supposed to have faith when you're taking the person who taught me to believe in you? Help me… help him… please!
