"I can try not to judge your friend." Wyatt said, thinking about the words she had used. She didn't seem like the type of person who would just say something without having a reason behind it. "And I am willing to accept that maybe he was a good guy. But you have to understand that I have had enough run ins with vampires that one good one is a sure rarity. A good one doesn't come around often. Of all the vampires I have met, those that have not tried to kill me only cared for blood. Some fought the blood lust but they still craved it so deeply that it filtered into every pore of their body. Trust me when I say that the blood lust is not something you want to mess around with. It's a disease that kills more people than it affects. Much more."
But he wasn't going to give her a speech. She was her own woman. She was smart and independent and strong. And beautiful. She was like sunlight and it warmed him just looking at her. Especially knowing that she wasn't a blood sucking leech.
"If you're brothers love you, they will love you no matter what. Finding out about the change is a challenge to some but that doesn't have to change everything." He thought about how he had handled his own family. Knowing that had been such a disaster, he went back to thinking about how he WISHED he'd handled his family. "Tell them one night and assure them in every way that you are still their sister. What happened to you was not a choice, much like me being forced to shift along with the lunar cycle is not a choice. It's one thing to want to be a monster, it's another to be forced into that world." He had been forced due to his DNA. Beth had been forced due to the attacker.
It was such a horrible shame.
He lowered his head slightly. "I know what you mean. I have a sister that I was responsible for was I was just a young boy. It was only right to make sure she had a good family, since my parents had died. So I got her in with the best family. And every year, I visit her. She's married now, you know? And she's beautiful, just like our mother was. She has a husband and a child.. and she's happy. And it's all I could have wished for."
