I hope things have continued going well for you settling in. If you'd be interested, perhaps we could have lunch or tea sometime and chat? If not it's perfectly fine, of course, but I find myself wanting to indulge in the idea of doing something outside of work and reading too much.

Can I ask you a slightly strange question? Looking at baby clothing, there was something that said "slugger" on it. What is that supposed to mean? Surely it's not referring to actual gastropods?
[/private]

[Private to Elizabeth Swann]
I realize you're not the young woman that I know with great physical resemblance, but I wondered if you might still be interested in having tea together or something along those lines. I could explain a bit about where I'm from and you could explain the cursed skeletons.
[/private]

[Private to Leia Organa-Solo]
I want to give you whatever space you need, of course, but I do want you to know that I'm here if you ever want or need me. I know we've discussed it, but I wanted to reiterate that I'm proud of you and so glad I've been able to get to know you.
[/private]

[Private to Anakin Skywalker]
I love you. Also, I really want a tangerine.
[/private]

I had been thinking about changing my job for awhile, but an opportunity that I rather like has come up and I got the job. It's a company makes sure that charities do what they should actually do and supports them with the money they raise. I'm excited.

I hope to be able to keep doing self-defense, at least on the side, once I'm settled in and the baby has been born. But they've found someone to take over the courses I've been teaching for now, with consideration to the fact I'm expecting and at that point where some physical examples won't be possible soon.

I'm starting to try and think of hobbies, rather than simply work and home, but am at a bit of a loss in regards to options. Are there any hobbies that anyone here enjoys that they would recommend?

I still think you should be a Wookie Groomer.

[Padmé]
I love you, too. But should I be jealous of this tangerine?

Show me the nearest Wookie, Ani.

[Ani]
Not if you'll get it for me. And some pasteurized orange juice.

We can find some. You just start your training.

[Padmé]
Are you requesting me to pick these up on my way home from work?

What should I train on? Do you want me to cut your hair?

[Ani]
Please? And I'm not just saying I love you because I want juice and a tangerine.

No. I think my hair is not the right texture.

[Padmé]
I'm beginning to think you only like me for the fruit I bring you.

[info]i_cannot_follow

What would be the right texture, Ani?

[Ani]
No. If it were that, I would have waited until you got home and the sun had set to say I wanted fruit.

This is what you would learn in your training.

[Padmé]
That would be cruel. Do you need me to get anything else on my way back?

[info]i_cannot_follow
2013-05-14 04:46 am UTC (link)
So have you had training in it?

[Ani]
Since I really want it right now, there's no reason to wait either. And maybe a package of strawberries too?

[info]darkforcerising
2013-05-14 11:46 am UTC (link)
No. I don't think that would be an encouraged hobby within the ranks of the Jedi.

[Padmé]
Should I just buy some of every kind of fruit?

It might be something done when refining precise lightsaber skills.

[Ani]
That would be a lot of fruit. Where would we keep it all?

Blame your son or daughter, not me.

It's a general rule that you never place a lightsaber near your head.

[Padmé]
No need, you would eat it all.

Oh, so it's just my child now? Now ours?

[info]i_cannot_follow
2013-05-15 03:57 am UTC (link)
It wouldn't be your head if it was Wookie grooming lessons.

[Ani]
Ani! I have a child growing inside of me. Be kind. Even if I am starting to show.

It's our child, but they're also very much yours.

It's just as dangerous to place it near someone else's head.

[Padmé]
Precisely why you would eat it all.

It's still 50/50, not more so mine than it is yours.

Well, he or she is 50% stubborn and I'm having a craving.

I'd love to get together actually. I got a job recently too so it'd be nice to do something outside of that too.

You can always ask questions. I may not always know the answer, though. Slugger is a pet name for a son usually. Sometimes fathers who enjoy baseball call their sons Slugger and sometimes fathers in general just call their son slugger.

Congratulations! What will you be doing? And my evenings and weekends are clear. We can do something some evening this week or next weekend.

Baseball? I'm not sure what that is. I'm glad it doesn't have anything to do with actual slugs. I thought that was so unusual.

I'm working at a daycare and nursery, so I'll be working with kids. How about next weekend? I don't have any plans and I should be all settled?

It's a game where you have a bat, or a long stick, and someone throws a ball for the person with the bat to hit. The goal is to hit the ball far enough so that you can run around all of the bases to get points.

I'm sure you'll be superb at that. And oh, that's another thing to think on eventually. And this weekend sounds great. How about Saturday? Oh, and do you have any problems with cats?

If people find it entertaining.

I enjoy reading. I've been doing a bit of writing, but I'm not entirely sure there's much to do with it as far as a hobby goes. I want to try and expand my horizons. Most of my prior focus went toward my efforts as a politician before I arrived here.

Oh. I don't know how to turn politics into a hobby.

Do you want something that takes you out of doors, or something you can do inside?

I don't think anyone does. But unfortunately, it leaves me a bit clueless as to even the basic ideas for hobbies.

I think I need to do more outdoors. Oh! I enjoy climbing with a grappling hook.

I had someone mistake me for someone else due to physical resemblance, at one point. It's hardly something to fault someone for or to be sorry for; I'm just sorry you can't meet her as well.

While there's all sorts of potential for manners of trickery, you would likely just have potential for a very nice conversation or two. As odd as it would be to have an exact physical double, I actually came to know Sabé when she was working for me as a body guard/handmaiden. A close physical resemblance who could take my place if the need existed.

I was a politician. The former person that held the position I did was assassinated, so the Captain of my security implemented a program to teach women of similar physical build and appearance how to defend themselves and, if necessary, me. Sabé has taken my place and has helped me countless times, both in guarding me and as a friend. Naboo has traditional make-up for one who holds certain political office, so the added makeup never hurt, either.

That makes sense. I've heard of political figures or royal members doing it before in the past, in a period of unrest.

I was Queen, though the position is one of election and limited term on Naboo. I've been told it's a matter of birth and lasts a lifetime, more often, on Earth.

Oh yes. A royal house can hold a throne for centuries. Occasionally they can be deposed or overthrown, but it's uncommon.

Election seems to be the best way, from my knowledge, to ensure that the people and the people's interests are kept as the first and foremost concern of the person most qualified to look after their interests. It's why the limitation on terms was put on the position.

But unfortunately, concern for the people doesn't always go over well with private parties who feel their interests should be catered to first and foremost. Politics is an arena I've ventured out of now, both due to the differences here and due to failure shortcomings in spotting a manipulative private party. But I'm still firm of the belief that the interests of the people should come first.

I was involved in a few political squabbles myself, to varying degrees. I'm of noble birth, my father was made governor of Port Royal when I was young. And technically I'm King of the pirate court, although take that with a grain of salt since they don't particularly like being governed by anyone. But I was elected, and they did follow my lead. Fortunately to a resolution that didn't end in all our deaths.

Forgive me for saying so, but it seems like a good deal would have to happen between daughter of a governor to King of the pirate court. Likely more than cursed skeletons.

It really means a lot to me that you are still here. I'm have tried and am still trying to do the right thing. I'm very lucky, I know, to have this opportunity to get to know you and Anakin.

Maybe I need to get out of the castle a little more. It doesn't help that I'm still in the same rooms as before. Everything is so quiet now.

Of course.

I think, considering the circumstances, you're allowed a break to try and recover. Doing the right thing is taking care and consideration of yourself. Getting out of the castle may be helpful.

All of the rooms look identical. Would changing rooms help, or would you maybe find some relief out of changing some things around? I found a "resale" shop, when looking for baby and maternity clothing. They had a number of good furniture items there. I doubt the staff here would mind if you put some things of your own in.

Whatever opportunities one may afford themselves when it comes to doing the right thought should be snagged. Not that it is of any tremendous consequence, but I strongly commend you.
