Helena Wells-Quinzel is H.G. Wells ([info]indelibleink) wrote in [info]makebelievelog,
"It is never a drawback to expand one's circle," Helena commented with a smile. Claudia certainly did earn her nicknames. Or at least she'd earned the royal pain one as far as Helena was concerned. The other two, well, Helena could see where they could come from.

Listening to Claudia's suggestion, Helena wondered if it was even necessary for such symbolism. After all, Helena had all ready given Myka a necklace with an open heart pendant to symbolize the fact Helena had opened her heart to her. It was running along the same line of symbolize as the darkness versus light metaphor. Running both of her hands through her hair, she drew in a slow breath. "There are times when I wish the author in me would not run so rampant with metaphorical references." So sticking to the light because, well, Myka was the light to Helena's darkness. She wouldn't precisely say as much in so many words, but Helena did still have a very harsh and negative view of herself. Though she had been making progress on that. At least until James had died in her arms and undone a lot of the progress she'd made.

"I do fear we need to wear down the soles of your shoes some more." So with that it was off to another jeweler. The one she led them to had a couple potentials in it, though upon their arrival, Helena quickly located the area with the two potentials. Though upon seeing one again, she instantly ruled it out without even pointing it out to Claudia. The other potential she did point out, though she also ruled that one out. While its only gem was the single diamond, something about it just wasn't right. A little more time was spent there scrutinizing the rest of the rings in the event something else jumped out at her, but Helena didn't find anything there. Which left one other jeweler to visit as the last potential still on her list was there.

"All right, and again needing to go to another jeweler. This one is, however, a little ways off, so if you wanted to stop for lunch on the way, we most certainly can." Helena said, leaving the store and heading in the direction of the jeweler she had in mind. Though she would let Claudia take the lead in where they would stop, if anywhere, along the way for lunch.
