Peeta ducked as a pan flew past him and he had the urge to throw it back, but chances were the strange little man that had thrown it would just vanish again like he had when Peeta had swatted at him with the wooden spoon he'd been mixing the batter with after the first pan had narrowly missed him. Since then Peeta had just tried to ignore him, hoping he'd get tired and float away, but that didn't seem to be happening.

Instead, the little man picked up the pan and another wooden spoon and started banging it while singing some song that made no sense at all. Really, all Peeta had wanted was to bake something and now he could feel the beginnings of a headache starting.

"That's interesting. Where would one learn something like that?" Peeta asked, rolling the dough flat before arranging it in the pie dish, "I mean, you weren't exactly surprised to see...Peeves when you came in." Peeta really wasn't sure what was more strange, being taken from the Arena and plopped down in some strange castle or the fact that there were ghosts and people who apparently knew how to fight them.

"It's kind of the family business," Dean said, shrugging his shoulders. It wasn't something he often shared under normal circumstances, but these weren't exactly normal circumstances. He might as well educate his peers.

"Anyway," he went on, "Most folklore starts from a kernel of truth, so if you research the old wives tales and stuff, there's a lot of information that's been handed down. Especially among families of hunters--monster hunters--like mine. Thankfully most these ghosts that have shown up here seem pretty more annoying than vengeful."
