Sooooo…. let’s not be shy about this, ya? Apparently you and I shag at some point in the future and make a sprog. I’m thinking that’s a good enough reason to get to know each other. What do you say?

[A second later]
OH! And sorry about accusing you of kidnapping me.

Erm... I'm sorry, but I really don't think you and I have got a child in the future, considering I've no idea who you are.

Perhaps this was meant for someone else?

Ak! Sorry Sir!

That was meant for my son's father. Didn't mean to disturb you.

That's quite alright. To be honest, with how messed up this place can be, timing wise, I was just a bit worried you did have the right number.

An understanding and quite sympathetic 'Hear hear'. I've actually never meet my son's da ... But apparently we do in the future.

I'm Tonks, by the way.

My best mate and I are from decidedly different points in time. I dunno about you, but where we're from, time travel isn't really a thing apart from on telly. So it's a bit disorienting. Not so disorienting as finding out you've got a child with a bloke you don't know though, so I'm sorry you've got to deal with that.

John Watson.

Where I'm from time travel is actually possible but it's bloody difficult to get the time-turners, the things needed to do it.

They don't really cover this in school, they should though. A Life Experience course.

Oh! A fun coincidence or were your parents fans of the detective series?

That would be a helpful course. "How to Deal with Seemingly Impossible Situations in Which You Are Uprooted From Your Normal Life and Wake Up in a Ruddy Big Castle". Everyone would sign up.

Detective stories?

If your school offered that wouldn't you jump at it!? I would. Sounds brilliant, and easy.

Oh, you know, Sherlock Holmes. Brilliant muggle detective and his companion Dr. John Watson - he tells the stories. My da read them to me when I was just a tiny sproglette.

I'm sorry... are you from the future?

I didn't really think my blogs were the sort of thing someone would read their children. Glad I kept the language family friendly.

Um, I think that depends on who you ask. I'm from 1994. My da read from the books his da gave him when he was young.

What's a blog?

So you're actually from the past then. Okay.

A blog is sort of an internet diary.

Erm... what do you mean your dad read from books? You mean about Sherlock Holmes?

Oy, yes, something like twenty years almost! But my mum is from further back than I am so I'm from her future.

Yes, books, about the Victorian detective. Um, I think Hound of the Baskervilles is one of the most famous. You should find a library and pick it up. It's brilliant.

That's... I'll do that. Ta for the information.
