John, giving you access to my room does not mean I want to to touch the experiments. It was an inconvenience the first time to acquire the severed head. I require you to replace the one you contaminated.

You haven't got a gorilla in a cage waiting for a mate you plan to grow from that severed head, do you?

I don't care for animals and I hardly want another brainless human being on this planet.

Keeping an animal in a cage for experimentation purposes can hardly be categorized as 'caring' for them.

However, that is not really the point. As you're clearly a mad scientist of the muggle persuasion these questions must be asked for the safety of the rest of the castle inhabitants.

I'll clarify: I do not work with animals. I'd hardly label myself a mad scientist, and I'm not particularly known for experimenting on living people.

Not particularly known for it? That just makes it sound like you've covered your tracks well.

As for the mad scientist bit - you have dismembered human body parts in your rooms, upon which you are experimenting. That's part and parcel of a classic Victorian thriller serial.

Believe whatever you'd like. I have other things that need my attention.
