Once she was sure that she wasn't going to get one of the fancy, globe-trotting dates this week, Lavender decided to take matters into her own hands. She had been spending plenty of time with Cormac, obviously, but she wanted to do something a little special.

After inviting Cormac to join her for a late breakfast on the covered verandah outside her bedroom at Villa Gardenia, they'd headed down to the beach where a pair of extremely comfortable sun loungers had been waiting for them beneath a wide, shady umbrella. Later, as per Lavender's request, a picnic basket had been delivered to them, complete with a bottle of champagne and some chocolate covered strawberries.

Sun protection potion had been applied very well and very often. From her side of things, Lavender could barely resist touching him as it was. It took all her self-control for her touches to stay innocent, but getting to smooth the cooling lotion across the firm muscles of his back and chest went just a little way towards satisfying her needs. She bit her lip as she watched him stretch out on the lounger next to hers. Merlin, keeping her hands to herself was difficult.

Lavender turned onto her side, propping herself up on her elbow. "Want to go for a swim? Or head back to the villas?"

Mac quirked an eyebrow at Lavender - exactly the sort of question he'd hoped she'd ask. "Well, word has it our little friends," he indicated the camera crew with a nod of his head, "can't follow us out into the water." He looked out to the water and then back at her, "How about a swim?"

Cormac stood, stretched his arms above his head (mostly because he wanted to see if she would watch him do it), and then leaned down to kiss her soundly before offering his hand to pull her up off her own lounger.

Lavender watched. How could she not? The sight was tantalising. Merlin, she was sure she had never been this frustrated. Once he had pulled her up, she kissed him once again, a hand resting lightly on those perfect abs. "Sure, let's swim."

She was reminded a little of their first date on the beach, but now there was a much deeper familiarity between them. She had no qualms about taking his hand as they made their way to the surf, letting out a soft gasp when the water lapped at their ankles. "So should I ask who gave you this tip about the water?" she asked, eyebrows raised teasingly.
