It was the first time he'd ventured into flirting in far too long, and it was a fantastic feeling experience, like a memory long ago bubbling beneath his skin as well as the warmth from her look. He hadn't realized he'd missed the sensation until just now. He hadn't really looked around at anyone like that even after the divorce was final, instead throwing himself into his work and his children, though he shared them as a matter of course with their mother.
"Exactly. I honestly can't remember the last vacation I took for me. I adore my children, don't get me wrong, but I'm finding my mother was right -- sometimes you just need to go and remember you're actually an adult." And not just a parent.
