Cináed’s eyebrows shot up; though he was convinced it was only on the surface, Millicent had always been the perfectly composed woman, who didn’t give into immediate whims or sudden desires. So to feel her hand gripping his shirt was a surprise… a brilliant surprise, and it only had his smile brighten when he pulled back and was looking at her.
His cheeks felt like they were about to burst from smiling, so when she said that she’d go with him, he just nodded and threaded his fingers with hers. “Perfect,” he said, still nodding as he raised their joined hands and kissed her knuckles without taking his eyes off hers. “It’ll be brilliant.”
