It was fascinating watching all the declarations and promises to each other. So fascinating that Cináed had more or less forgotten that he might be called up there. And then there was Millicent, and instantly he mentally crossed his fingers that she would say his. She had smiled at him, which he took as a good sign, and as she spoke, he nodded, because she was describing what he had been thinking.
With a small “Whoop!” he pumped his fist in the air before he practically bounced across the floor to her. Foregoing the manners and etiquette that she had shared with him, he slid one hand to the back of her neck and dipped his head down to kiss her. “Come travel with me,” he asked her with a smile. “We’ll both be away from everything we know and what better way to get to know each other?”
