Oh, Lavender wished that she wasn't the one with the rose in her hand tonight. She never tired of Cormac saying sweet things to her, especially when a part of her knew that wasn't normal for him - not to this extent, anyway. Tonight and the next few days would go to prove whether it was all genuine, but she had faith that it was, a faith that had settled solidly somewhere behind her ribs this evening.
"Cormac." She smiled shyly. "I thought you were going to be trouble that first night," she said, tone teasing. "I had no idea that we were going to have these incredible few weeks together. And now I think we have a lot more to look forward to together." Holding out the rose, her fingers trembled slightly with nerves but she smiled brightly. "If you'll accept this, of course."
