It was one thing to fall for Bill in a place like this, with no business to run, no working in a different country, nor three children and an ex-wife. They had everything they could wish for and more here to make it easy for them to work out… except the privacy.
Picking up the rose, she swallowed down and hoped that she hadn’t misread Bill or his intentions and that she wasn’t about to humiliate herself in front of everyone she knew. “Bill,” she said and looked up to meet his eyes. “You and I have almost impossibly busy lives back home. Lives that some may argue isn’t really fit for a relationship that doesn’t go back years and years.” She hated that her voice was shaking, but dammit, she wanted to do this. “But I think I fell for you that first night here, at the welcome party, so I’d like to give it a try. Will you try it with me?”
