Malia narrowed her eyes the tiniest bit as she watched Libby. More than anything she felt like she was being led into making a promise about not leaving class unless she had her teacher's permission, and that was the last thing she wanted to make any promises about, no matter what the rules were. Thinking it through, Malia stayed quiet perhaps a little too long, but that was only because she was trying to figure out if maybe she was misreading the situation with Libby currently.
"No," she finally said. "Because there isn't a compromise is there? I have to do what they say. So it doesn't really matter what I think, does it?" Malia didn't mean to pose the question in a confrontational way, but her tone came off a little more forceful and with an edge than intended. Which was due more to her irritation with the entire subject than Libby herself.
