"Hey, no." Laura reached up, cupping Derek's face and drawing his attention back to her.
The height differences in the Hale family were unfair, Laura often bemoaned. She might not be as short as Thea, but she lacked the height Anna and Derek had been graced with and that proved frustrating when she was trying to comfort her brother. The few inches between them made it awkward when she draw his head down so she could press a kiss to his forehead, wrapping her arms around him in a comforting hug.
"You're alive and that's all that matters." She had no idea about the teenagers, but she knew Derek. He wouldn't have killed anyone unless it was a dire situation, one that meant life or death. "We'll figure everything else out, okay? You're alive, you're okay."
Laura ran her hands up and down his back, holding Derek tight. There would probably be blood on her clothes later, but that didn't matter. Clothes were expendable. Derek wasn't.
"Breathe with me, Derek. Remember the mantra. Alpha, beta, omega."
