Isabella was pouring over old reports. She'd gotten so far as to the last years her parents were in school, right before Uncle Harry faced Voldemort in school the first time. The incident with the first Dark Arts professor. She was looking for missing persons reports, things that might sound similar to what happened to Lily. So far she had three piles. One for reports that didn't match the specifications at all. One for unsolved cases that were similar. And the last was for solved cases that were similar. So far the unrelated cases had the biggest pile. Unsolved was not far behind. Apparently during the war there were a lot of missing people who were never found. It was depressing.
But they had something now that they didn't before. They had Wyatt. Well, okay, not so much him specifically. His whole family. The witches of the States who had a different kind of magic. (Although Izzy was still a bit stuck on the fact that Wyatt could wield Excalibur, and the fact that Excalibur had no affect on her.) But surely with their combined magics there had to be a way to find Lily. Isabella wasn't going to stop until Lily was safe. She blamed herself. She couldn't ever put a solid reason on why it was her fault, but Isabella was sure it was her fault. This was her case, after all. It was her job to keep people safe from this.
Izzy hadn't gone home the night before. She'd been awake all night staring at reports. She couldn't remember when she'd eaten last, although there was remnants of Thai food on the table across the room. But her eyes were starting to blur a little bit. She still had so many reports to go through, though. She hadn't even gotten back to the first war yet. Sighing, Isabella leaned back, covering her eyes with her hands and trying to rub some life back into them. They were probably just dry or something. She wasn't tired. She was wide awake!
Or thought so anyway. She nearly jumped out of her skin when she heard the door open. Her hand scrambled for her wand as she looked up. Merlin, she was losing her sodding mind!
