Who: The twins plus anyone who wants to witness a great exit.
What: An escape
Where: The Entrance Hall
Why: Because Harry asked for a distraction.
When: The 28th at Sunset.
Just a quick note: Most of this, especially the dialogue, is from OotP but I thought it would be fun to role play it from Fred's pov instead of just watching it from Harry's and I thought it could be fun for all of you to be able to react to this instead of just hearing how Harry felt.
Harry had asked for a distraction and after all that he'd done for Fred and George, they couldn't really say no. So a distraction was what he was going to get. The perfect plan was formulated and underway...
They'd set up a portable swamp in the entrance hall which had soon been discovered by the Inquisitorial Squad, who, Fred had noticed, were looking very pleased with themselves. but they'd see who'd be smiling once this was over.
As expected, Umbridge was none to happy to find that the Entrance hall was now covered by a huge swamp. She was absolutely fuming and her and Filch were threatening to whip the two boys. Fred turned to his twin brother and grinned despite the fact that he and George had been cornered.
"So! So- you think it is amusing to turn a school corridor into a swamp, do you?"
Was she kidding? Of course it was amusing to turn a corridor into a swamp, especially if it meant pissing off Umbridge and helping a friend at the same time.
"Pretty amusing, yeah." Fred answered lightly as Filch came forward to announce that he'd found some forms that meant that Fred and George could be whipped. Fred looked at George again, not paying any attention to what Umbridge was saying to Filch. he raised his eyebrows slightly as if conveying a message to his twin.
"You twins are about to learn what happens to wrong doers in my school." Umbridge went on once she'd finished discussing the whipping with Filch.
"You know what? I don't think we are." Fred said, turning to his twin again. "George, I think we've outgrown full-time education."
"Yeah, I've been feeling that way myself." George replied, lightly as Fred grinned some more. The plan was running smoothly.
"Time to test our talents in the real world, d'you reckon?" Fred asked, glad the two of them had bought that shop in Diagon.
"Definitely." He heard George reply. That was the cue.
"Accio brooms." Fred said at the same time as George as the two of them raised their wands.
A huge CRASH was heard from a distant room and then their transport had arrived, one of which still had a chain and peg attached to it.
"We won't be seeing you." fred told Umbridge as he mounted his broom. 'Thank merlin for that' he added in his head.
"Yeah, don't bother to keep in touch." George quipped as he followed suit and mounted his own broom.
Fred looked down at the large, silent gathering of students who had been watching the performance.
"If anyone fancies buying a Portable Swamp, as demonstrated upstairs, come to number ninety-three, Diagon Alley - Weasleys' Wizarding Wheezes," he boomed so all could hear. "Our new premises!" he continued.
"Special discounts to Hogwarts students who swear they're going to to get rid of this old bat." George added as he pointed towards Umbridge.
Fred heard Umbridge screeching "STOP THEM!" and the Inquisitorial Squad closed in on them but they were too late. Fred and George had already kicked off and were floating above the ground, the chain dragging below one of them and swinging around dangerously.
As he was about to leave, Fred looked across the hall at Peeves who was also floating a feet feet above the ground.
"Give her hell from us, Peeves." were his departing words. As Peeves swept his hat from his head and saluted, he and George wheeled about and sped out of the open front doors into the glorious sunset, leaving behind mountains of applause and a fuming Professor Umbridge.
"That was pretty awesome, huh George?" Fred asked, grinning widely at his brother. "Come on, let's go and get this shop up and running." He added as the two continued to fly towards Diagon alley.
