Matty & Augustus: BACKDATED
11-10-2007 RP: Augustus Rookwood and Matilda Dukelow
Characters: Augustus & Matilda
Setting: Hogsmeade Ball, After the spell wears off BACKDATED
Summary: Augustus tries to charm her dress off her. Will he have any success?
Once the spell wore off, he certainly had enough of masks, Augustus took the mask off and tossed it in the nearest garbage. There was no way that he would keep it on long enough to find the spell working again, after all. It's rather a pain to be stuck to another individual, even if it had been Narcissa, Augustus would still have (mostly) wanted his freedom to move about should he choose to. (In Narcissa's case, he likely wouldn't be choosing, too, but that is beside the point.)
Searching the room until he laid eyes on his rightful date, looking quite smashing in the bluish-green dress. How appropriate she chose that colour, considering that it was the perfect balance between the Ravenclaw blue and the Slytherin Green. Augustus himself was wearing black dress robes, but had selected his tie and trim to match Matty's dress perfectly. After all, they certainly were going to look good together, Augustus wouldn't have had it any other way.
"Mind if I had this dance?" he asked, walking up to Matty and offering his hand. She really was a looker. A quidditch fanatic, to boot. Not to mention her legs, oh her gorgeous legs, the dress was too long to do them justice, but he could imagine. Augustus briefly wondered why the Slytherin house hadn't caught up to the fact that birds who play quidditch are bloody fit, and perhaps they should let their girls have that advantage as well. Briefly, though, because Augustus knew that a team full of blokes had a huge advantage over the other teams, it was just natural ability, after all.
Matty had an...interesting time with the younger Black, who seemed to hate every moment of dancing with her, which she could only respond to with multiple sighs. As soon as the spell had worn off, Matty made her way to the drinks table, looking for her friends whom no doubt had horror stories of their own to tell. Poor Frank, she hoped he'd be able to dance with Alice at some point...
She smoothed a pleat in her dress skirt, smiling because she had actually taken the time that night to look her best, whether that was because she wanted to impress someone or not, had yet to be seen. Biting her lip, Matty scoured the ballroom once again trying to find her surprise date, and wondered idly if it was actually just a joke. She had to admit she was both shocked and a little suspicious that he had asked her, she couldn't think of a single time when she would have gained his attention or when they had ever actually talked. Still, he was charming and seemed to want to be there with her, and for now, that was good enough for her. Matty's thoughts were interrupted suddenly when a hand appeared in front of her, accompanied by a very good looking Augustus Rookwood, the very person she was just thinking about.
"I'd love to," she beamed,in answer to his question setting down her drink as her hands went back up to her face to adjust her mask. Her original one was silver with fine blue and blak detailing and it reminded Matty mildly of her own Irish heritage folklore. She wasn't sure why, but even with Augustus having his off, Matty couldn't take it off, and she was mildly alarmed if it was due to nerves. She took Augustus' hand and let him lead her.
