Dear Alberta,
I've been missing you dreadfully this past week- things have been quite hellish here lately, with all that's gone on with Minister Bovaguard- the girl that died had family here at school, and tensions have been very high. Aside from that, there's a Masquerade coming up that has consumed most of the school's collective attention, and regrettably, mine included. Mostly out of frustration that we are being made to attend, and I have no will, nor the means to attend properly. Did I mention that I had my first kiss and had my heart shattered all in one fell-swing?
But aside from all that, I have a few questions to ask you, regarding your experiences as a mother. You see, I'm writing a paper on the childhoods of muggles non-magical people versus wizards.
From your experiences, what are the differences and similarities in the way that non-magical and magical children
1) interact with their environment?
2) interact with their family?
3) Interact with self, or develop a sense of self (I know this one is a bit of a stretch, but I am interested to know if you have any thoughts on this)
I preemptively thank you kindly, mother. I hope everything's well at home. Give Meyer and Lionel all my love of course.
Love,
Your adoring daughter Daisy
p.s. Do you have any interesting dress robes that I could use for this damned masquerade? I have nothing to wear.
Roddy,
Forgive me for omitting the formalities, but I really must make this hasty and for that I apologise.
Do you have any sort of literature on Psychology? Specifically, the development of children. Don't bother asking why I need a muggle science text, it would most certainly make you sick. The school has gone to shit. But if so, please send it right away.
Any rate, I hope you are in good health, and that all your faculties quite intact. When is the next issue of the Geist? I hope you'll consider sending your poor sheltered sister a copy. All my love, naturally. I miss you. When can you come and steal me away, Roddy? I'm having a terrible time of trying to get on with this all. I don't mean to worry you, obviously, but- well. You must know.
Yours,
Daisy
