Lucas curled into her and just clung tightly to her while he worked through those emotions again. That was honestly only part of the story which was insane and heartbreaking all at once. It took a few minutes before he was able to pull back to look at her, sadness still written all over his face.
"Dean's my actual dad," he admitted quietly, knowing she wasn't fond of Dean to begin with and getting her to give him a chance had been so hard. Now he just felt awful for not listening to her in the first place. "He and my mom, they wanted me, but- something happened. She- she died holding me, from some kind of complication. He wasn't there and he just...he couldn't-" His voice cracked from the emotion because it still sucked so hard that his family had been ruined before it had even gotten a chance to start. "So he gave me to Dad- to my Uncle." He just wanted to curl up in a ball and never move again because he didn't think he'd ever recover from the pain.
