It was enough to pique his interest to hear that this guy was familiar with the concept of a cover. The way he said it made Marcos think it was from experience rather than television or something like that. It wasn't quite enough to get him to let his guard down entirely, but it was enough to get him to not be quite so brusque.
"Five days now," he replied. "It's been a lot to take in." The elevator came and he stepped inside. As a bit of an olive branch, Marcos asked, "Could you hit three please?" He still stuck to one side of an elevator, but it was a step.
"Supposedly it gets easier, but I don't know. I'm not sure I'll ever get used to this place." It was a lot to adjust to and Marcos really just wanted to take Lorna and Dawn and just hide away somewhere. That wasn't the kind of life he wanted for his daughter though, so maybe it was a good thing that they'd all found their way there. "The whole everyone can be from different worlds or versions of a world shouldn't be quite as insane as it sounds, but it really is."
