Who: Vanya + Allison Hargreeves
Where: Their cruise room
When: Slightly backdated to Friday
What: Sisterly bonding
Warnings: None
Status: Started in gdocs, continued in comms
Allison wasn’t sure what being had assigned the rooms for this little voyage, but she was pretty pleased with its choice for her. When they’d been kids, she of course hadn’t had to share a room. Some things weren’t exactly necessary when you were loaded with money. Something she hadn’t appreciated as a spoiled child. She also hadn’t appreciated her sister as a child, either. Now she respected both of those things. And she was enjoying the little bit of extra time she was getting with Vanya now.
She’d enjoyed seeing the sights during the day, but back on the ship it was quality sister time. Or, at least, as far as she was concerned it was. She thought maybe her sister would get annoyed eventually. But if she did, Allison could always just go raid the buffet or see one of those cheesy cruise ship shows.
For now, though, she was sprawled at the foot of her bed, thumbing through a magazine. “You know what we should do that we never did when we were kids? Makeovers!”

Vanya hadn’t been sure how to feel about being paired up with her sister for the cruise, but eventually she’d chosen to take her cue from Allison herself, and just try to enjoy it. In fact, it hadn’t been all that bad, and as she changed into a pair of shorts and a t-shirt to sleep in, Allison’s words caught her attention.
“Seriously? But you have nothing to make over,” Vanya replied, gesturing vaguely with one hand. Face it, her sister was gorgeous, and there wasn’t really any way she could improve her appearance, at least in Vanya’s opinion. And for she herself? She was basically a lost cause.

Rolling her eyes playfully, Allison shook her head. "Don't be ridiculous. Face masks, makeup, hair, nails, toes… All that good stuff! The kind of stuff you do at sleepovers." Not that either of them had exactly had a lot of sleepovers to go to. Being a Hargreeves could be odd in many ways. Not having normal friendships was one of them.
Besides, it would be nice to take the time to show Vanya how pretty she could be. Allison knew her sister felt plain and dowdy sometimes. Part of that was probably the stupid medication they had her on. But she had great skin and gorgeous eyes and she deserved to feel just as pretty as Allison so often did.

“Grease totally lied to me, then. I thought unsanitary ear piercings, smoking, and singing about other girls or the love of your life was the kind of thing you did at sleepovers,” Vanya said dryly as she looked over at Allison.
“Let me guess. You already bought out the stores here of all their cosmetics and hair gunk, huh?”
***
Allison grabbed a hairbrush and sang a couple of lines of Look At Me, I'm Sandra Dee before bursting into giggles. "I promise not to pierce your ears with cold water?" And she wouldn't smoke. Hollywood pushed that and more on you, but Allison valued her voice way too much for that. "We could write to our Korean war pen pals?"
Smirking, she pulled out her shopping bag from earlier. "Well. Not all of it. Acting here doesn't exactly pay like acting back home. But I may have taken down half of Italy. And what do you know, I have a few things in your shade, I am such a loveable sister!"
***
Vanya rolled her eyes at the Grease reenactment, but she was grinning a bit; when Allison was nice to her, she actually enjoyed spending time with her sister. In reality, she was glad this was happening more often now. Maybe it was the whole ‘other universe’ thing.
After a moment, she sat on the end of Allison’s bed and sent her a small smirk. “I’ve never in my life had a shade, so you must have been planning this for a while,” she commented. “What did you get?”
***
“If by a while you mean since ending up on a cruise in a cabin with my sister, you’re totally right, I’ve been planning it forever.” Allison laughed and dumped the bag out all over the bed. She began dividing up items by things they could both use and things that would work better for her or for Vanya.
“So, you’re definitely a winter, as they would have said in old time magazines. This foundation should work for you? Most likely anyway. I’ve got the best eyeliner in the world and Vanya, honestly, your eyes are gorgeous, make them work for you!” She pushed both of the items towards her sister while thumbing through the pack of face masks she’d found. “You don’t moisturize as much as you should but honestly, one of these every weekend anad you’ll be okay. At least till winter, god I bet the winters here suck.” They’d been at the very tail end of winter when she’d arrived and that was more than enough for her.
She grinned and unceremoniously dropped a hair mask in her sister’s lap, too. “And trust me, your hair will never feel better than after you use this. And it smells like the freshest mojito you’ve ever had, I swear.”
