Cassie wasn't in the best of moods. To say she was sullen was an understatement, but she did try to keep her spirits up for the sake of her parents whenever she was home or around them or their friends. Or anyone else who might tell on her for that matter. She knew her parents worried because they cared but they sometimes made it hard for her to feel like she could just be upset. With school done for the year and since she successfully avoided summer school, she had more time to focus on her tattooing skills. Being the apprentice-slash-intern meant running the front desk more often than not, cleaning out the machines, ordering supplies and the like, which could get tedious but it was a decent enough distraction.
Once she'd finished most of her tasks for the afternoon, Cassie settled in at the front counter with her sketchbook and practiced her drawings while she waited for the bell overhead to jingle. It was very likely that her parents knew about her job, especially considering one was a spy, but so far it had been one of those not discussed things and she was content to keep it that way. Cassie just wanted a place that was her's so that way she'd have somewhere to go when her parents left. When her mom went home to die and her dad went home to be some weird hybrid of himself and Hulk. She really did not want to think about either of those things.
The bell rang from the door opening and Cassie waited a beat to look up. "Just a moment," she said as she focused on finishing her lines. That was the trickiest part for her at the moment and she wanted to dedicate serious time to improving it.
