"Alright," Briar nodded, figuring that was good enough. He could tell Lucas and get the kid off his back about it, he'd take a girl he actually liked spending time with to a fancy dance neither of them particularly liked going to, but maybe they'd have a good time. And she was right, they could always leave if it was no fun at all.
"Hurry up and get that into the ground," he advised, switching right back to the garden. "Got plenty of weeding to do after they're in, too." And he was definitely making her do the bulk of it, the same way Rosethorn had done to him. At least he was letting her touch the plants. That was better than he'd gotten. He loved his teacher but she'd been stingy at the start.
