When you had as much difficulty making decisions as Chidi did even simple, every day tasks like grocery shopping could be an adventure. It took him far longer than the average person to pick up what he needed because he had to read every label and make decisions about what would offer the best nutritional value for the price. That meant when he finally checked out, he was only carrying two bags despite having been at the store for nearly two hours.
He was still debating if he'd made the right decision in buying the frozen broccoli instead of the fresh, when he noticed another man heading out of the store, trying to juggle more grocery bags and a baby. Deciding to help someone else did not require nearly as much thought as other things and Chidi walked over and offered him a tentative smile. "Why don't you let me carry a few of those for you," he offered.
