Klara finally left the house, but she needed to check on some of the specialty plants she'd set up for Torvi. She sat down in the hothouse and it was easy to see she was still sad because the flowers drooped at her.

She sighed and patted them gently, coaxing them to ignore her feelings and stay strong. Plants gave her solace.

Clove was eighteen now and didn't really have to stay in school anymore -- she could drop out if she really wanted to, but she was so close to graduating that what was the point of dropping out? Not that she wanted to, honestly, she'd just realized the other day while doing her chemistry homework that she didn't have to spend any more time dealing with the fuckery of school.

But she secretly didn't really mind it. Plus she liked learning. And she wasn't going to quit so close to the end, that wasn't who she was -- and it wasn't who Sigrun was teaching her to be.

Plus she was keeping an eye on Jedikiah.

Clove dragged her fingers through her hair as she headed for the hothouse -- she checked on the plants, too, because she wasn't going to learn without putting her knowledge into practice. Which meant that when she walked in and saw the droopy flowers, the first words out of her mouth were "Cheer the fuck up, you're depressing the flowers."

	She looked up at Clove and smiled, faintly. "I know. Sorry. Hello to you as well." she said all in one breath, leaning back to look at her, smiling a little. She liked Clove, even if she was the very definition of rough and abrasive. It wasn't that bad. Just a little hard to handle somedays. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	"So," Clove said, approaching Klara. "How can I help you stop depressing the flowers?" It was her version of asking what was wrong. She wasn't very good at it, and really, she knew what was wrong -- she knew about the whole Roxas going home thing, but there was more to the situation. There was always more to a situation. Klara smiled at Clove, it was weak but there. "Honestly, I do not know. I am not used to letting myself get hurt anymore." it was her way of saying she had feels and she had no idea what to do with them.

Maybe teach her to throw something. That might help. Phil might not approve but that was alright. Sometimes you had to rebel. A little.

"It does kind of suck, doesn't it?" Clove agreed. "I haven't... I don't know, I haven't gotten hurt like you have, but I've... I've at least lost people I've known, and I hate hurting. Sometimes I think that it was easier when I didn't care. When all I really gave a shit about was training. But..."

She looked down at Klara for another second, thoughtfully, before holding out a hand. "Come on. We're gonna go teach you something."

Time to make Nyssa proud somewhere and go play with some pointies.
