Who: Lisa Snart and Sam Winchester
What: Running into each other
Where: Verdant
When: Friday night
Status: Closed; Incomplete
Rating: TBD

Though Lisa happened to like Sara, her normal "haunt" on a Friday night tended to be Lou's bar. However, she found herself becoming somewhat bored with the place lately and decided to try out Verdant for a Friday night instead. Normally, she didn't go for the club scene in the least bit unless there was something there she happened to need or want. In this instance, it was a little bit of excitement and it fell into both categories. After New Year's Eve, things had fallen into kind of a slump for Lisa, a ritual of getting up and going to work and not much else. It was horrible to say the least and while going to Verdant was probably not going to be the highlight of this month, it was a start at getting out of her routine at least and well...Lisa hated routines.

Dressing in her normal dark skinny jeans, leather jacket, and dark top, Lisa entered Verdant following a brief frisk from the bouncer. She insisted the woman do it being that she was not a fan of boys getting a free grab even if they happened to be muscular, good looking guys. In the clear (she'd left the Golden Gun at home for the night), Lisa made her way to the bar and ordered herself a drink. It was a martini of some kind, but she'd basically just closed her eyes and stabbed a finger at the menu. Random was the theme of the night after all and breaking out of the normal. Again, it was hardly the explosion of crazy she normally did enjoy, but she would take anything at this point. Aside from future kids. That could wait for a whole other year to happen again. Not that she minded Lenny or that it had been with Sam. He was a very attractive man after all and one she didn't mind spending time with either. Still, the idea o of a kid did weird her out...no matter who it was with.

Lisa was pretty sure the majority of the refugees were aware of the falling out between Sara and Sam at this point. She knew minor details and nothing more. It was none of her business despite her brother having formed a friendship with the other woman. All of it usually ended up leading to a lot of drama anyway, but what relationship did not end without a good dose of drama included? Regardless, Lisa wasn't one to pry unless there was something there that she needed in order to obtain something she wanted.

Spotting Sam at Verdant, Lisa was somewhat surprised given that particular situation, but she quickly dismissed the feeling and instead offered up her classic, flirtatious and friendly smile to Sam. She liked him and they seemed to get along quite well despite him pelting her with a snowball once upon a time. She could forgive those puppy dog eyes.

"Hey yourself stranger," she replied, patting the empty stool next to her affectionately. "Come, join in the fun Friday night I probably won't be having. Hey, maybe you can make it better though."

"Way to put the pressure on me," Sam said, but his tone and the accompanying smile said he wasn't the bit worried. He wasn't sure what would constitute fun, but he supposed he could at the very least keep her company.

"How's it going? Enjoying being free from the responsibilites of raising a child?" His child, no less, who for all that he was quiet and interested in books, was a Winchester. Sam knew from experience Winchester children were rarely easy to deal with day after day, even for just a week.

"Hey, you look like the kind of guy that can handle himself under pressure," Lisa replied coyly. "I have faith." Just his company was a better solution to her little boredom problem than anything else she had encountered so far this week. Besides, she liked Sam in general.

At the question, the brunette shrugged. "Lenny wasn't too bad. For a kid," Lisa replied softly. "I mean it was weird randomly having a kid with you, but it wasn't the worst."

"No, it wasn't," Sam shook his head. He'd liked the kid. He tended to like all his kids, though. He'd probably never actually have any. It just wasn't in the cards for him, and he'd made peace with that a long time ago. He really didn't want to risk the hell and damnation that seemed to be synonymous with the Campbell-Winchester bloodline.

"He was a good kid." He rolled his shoulders. "Kinda made me miss the real Lenny, though." He'd been fond of Lisa's brother. It would be awkward now, if he were still in town, after the breakup with Sara. But he still considered Leonard a friend.

Lisa had to remind herself that Sam had been here for quite some time and probably had experienced more than his share of kids with random people in the town. For her, this was still new and still very surprising, but if she stayed around long enough maybe she would end up as seasoned as himself. Maybe.

"Yeah...me too," Lisa replied, her tone suddenly going soft and quiet. "He was...a lot like Lenny." Which was not surprising since Leonard was his uncle and genes and all, but still Lisa found that after he departed she missed him in a lot of the ways she missed her brother.

"Yeah." Sam hadn't known Leonard as a child, but he could see a lot of his friend in the boy who shared his name. "Okay, well. Maybe we should change the subject. You keeping warm?"

Sam didn't mind winter. He liked the cold temperatures. His body temperature ran high, he was always warm. He would be perfectly content even in the snow to go around without a coat, but he wore one to avoid making other people uncomfortable.

A change of subject was welcomed and Lisa was grateful Sam suggested it. Thinking about Leonard only made her sad and she had come out tonight in the hopes of being anything other than that.

"I guess the best answer would be trying to stay warm. I am not much for winter weather as you could tell with the snowball fight. I prefer to avoid it if possible," she replied honestly. "What about you? Well, you're always warm, aren't you? So that's kind of a silly question I guess."

"Hey, that was a fun afternoon," Sam said. He remembered it fondly. But then he liked snow. And good natured snowball fights.

"And yeah, I am, but it's not a silly question since most people don't run hot like I do." Since most people didn't have demon blood in their veins, so that was a good thing.

"And I promise I won't tag you with a snowball next time."

"Well, you weren't the one that got pelted with the snowball if I remember correctly," Lisa replied with a smile. "But despite being freezing, I did enjoy it. For the most part anyway." Running into Sam had actually made it better.

Seeing that it was Madison Valley, Lisa knew all kinds of people were drawn here and she knew that it was strange Sam ran so hot as he put it, but it fit with the pattern of what this place held too. "Well, I've never met anyone like that other then you," she replied honestly. "Well, I suppose Firestorm ran hot, but only as Firestorm...never just as his human side. Which ever it was."

At the promise, Lisa laughed and shook her head. "You might be the only one I'd let get away with tagging me in a fight."

Sam nodded. "There was the hell hound guy. Jordan Parrish. But he's not in town anymore." Sam had done a good bit of research trying to figure out what the hell Jordan Parrish actually was the first time he'd been in town. Being a hell hound would certainly make a guy run hot.

"You want to know the reason?" He rolled his shoulders. There was no reason to keep the truth from her. It wasn't something he advertised, but he didn't exactly try to hide it either. Not here. "I have demon blood. I'm not like half demon or anything. But I was fed demon blood when I was a baby."

At the mention of a hell hound, Lisa frowned. She'd heard vaguely about them, but in passing and nothing detailed or concrete. It was clear Sam was more informed about the matter than she was, especially since he knew the person by name. Who knew someone could actually become a hell hound? "Is that a good thing or a bad thing?" Lisa attempted a joke.

When he asked if Lisa wanted to know the reason why he ran hot, she nodded. Maybe she should have been more scared, but Lisa was nothing if not dangerously curious a lot of the time. His answer was not what she was expecting, but maybe she shouldn't have been surprised by it either. "Demon blood as a baby? Really?" Lisa knew nothing about demons. "So does it do anything else besides just make you hotter than everyone? I mean well, not literally even if you are attractive..." she trailed off with weak smile.

"He was good people," Sam said. He hadn't known the man very well, really. But what he knew of him he seemed like a good guy.

Sam sighed. He shifted a little bit. "My dad was killed, his neck snapped, right. My mom made a deal with a demon to save his life. He was fine, no adverse effects. Ten years later, the demon came for payment, I was six months old. He fed me his blood, marked me as one of Hell's Children. I was supposed to lead Hell's Army. It's...complicated. But basically, I'm Lucifer's one true vessel in my world." There was so much more to the story, but Sam figured he'd given her enough information to try to digest for one sitting.

"But no. I don't have any special powers or anything. I seem to be immune to some communicable diseases, but unless I drink demon blood now, whatever powers the blood gives me are dormant."

Somehow Lisa managed to not take a sip of her drink as she listened to Sam tell her about his life, his history, back home. It sounded a little like a nightmare. Drinking demon blood? His mother making a deal to save his father's life with a demon? It was horrible and mostly just sad. And then him being Lucifer's one true vessel? Well, that was a shocker since Lisa never believed in any of that stuff and now he was pretty much saying it was true. At least, in his world anyway.

"That all sounds...horrible," Lisa replied softly. "I guess coming here was like a reprieve from that for a bit at least. And at least you don't have any crazy powers because you are not drinking demon blood." It was pretty gross to actually think about. "I feel like I should buy you a drink for just telling me all that. It couldn't have been easy. I appreciate you trusting me like that, Sam."

"More or less," Sam nodded. "But everytime I've gone back home, I've come back here half dead." There was the time he'd been trying to cure Crowley. And the time he'd been shot and kidnapped. Going home wasn't a picnic, but coming back to Madison hadn't been easy on his either.

He supposed that was just the way of his life.

"You don't have to buy me a drink. I mean, I won't say no, but it's not necessary." He flashed a smile. "And of course I trust you. I mean, we had a kid together after all."

"Doesn't make you want to go home anytime soon then," Lisa replied softly. It was a light tease, but truthfully, she knew there was obviously nothing funny about what Sam had told her...what he was telling her. Home and death seemed to be intertwined together for him and his brother. It was beyond sad and Lisa felt for both of the brothers though she was more familiar with Sam than Dean.

Lisa waved the bartender over. "Then I guess you have to trust me to buy you a beer," she replied, giving him a wink as she put in the order. "A future kid, but yes, a kid. That does bond people for life doesn't it?"
