Who: Jessica Jones and Jesse Pinkman.
What: Getting drinks.
Where: Lou's.
When: Backdated to Thursday, December 6.
Warnings: TBD.
Status: Closed | Incomplete

Jesse had arrived at Lou's a little before 7, not particularly minding if he was early. It would give him time to get a drink (or two) into his system before Jessica arrived. He settled down at the bar, and ordered a Jack Daniels on the rocks. Because why not. It appeared to be his drink of choice lately, anyway. So why not stick to what he knew. Or what he preferred these days. He leaned against the bar, sipping at his drink as he waited for Jessica to arrive. It was still a little strange to Jesse, how much the woman looked like his girlfriend back in Albuquerque. Well, Jane wasn't his girlfriend anymore. She wasn't anyone's girlfriend anymore, Walter White had seen to that.

He still liked Jessica, though. He knew she wasn't Jane, he understood that much. But he liked her nonetheless. She seemed to like him well enough as well. Which he was glad for. He needed a friend in Madison Valley, and she seemed as good a friend as any.

He didn't know if she was the type to be on time, or if she tended to run late, and he found he didn't care either way. As long as she arrived at some point tonight. And she hadn't given him any reason to think she wouldn't. She seemed to be a woman who kept her word, for the most part.

Jessica did not know exactly why she reached out to Jesse on the network. Maybe because, like she said, he was more bearable to be around than most of the others she had encountered in Madison Valley. Kaleb was another exception. While it was strange that Jessica was apparently identical to Jesse's girlfriend back home, surprisingly this didn't bother Jessica as much as it probably should have. As long as he didn't think Jessica should be identical to Jane they were fine.

Punctuality was not Jessica's strong suit, but she didn't keep Jesse waiting too long. She arrived not long after he did and spotted him easily at the bar. Walking over, she settled on the bar stool next to him and offered him a smirk in greeting. "Starting the party without me? How rude," Jessica said sarcastically before turning to the bartender to order herself a drink. "A whiskey. Same as his."

Jesse grinned at Jessica when she approached him. "Well, it's not a party without you. Not really." He smirked slightly at this, and took a sip of the drink in front of him. While he wasn't sure what had compelled Jessica to reach out to him, he was glad she had. He liked her, and not just because she looked like Jane.

He knew she was different from Jane, that the resemblance in looks was the only similarity the two shared. But he liked Jessica, and appreciated the fact that she had reached out to him.

"I'm glad you decided we needed drinks tonight."

"I'm a hundred percent sure that no one have ever said that about me," Jessica replied. "I think it would have been something more along the lines of the party ended when you walked in." Outside of the free food and free alcohol, Jessica tended to avoid parties if at all possible. She wasn't one for all of the socialization that came along with them. It was...draining to say the least. One on one was not too bad, especially if the person she happened to be around she actually didn't mind. Jesse, lucky for him, happened to fall into that category.

Jessica's drink arrived and she took a sip. While she may not know him that well, she did know Jesse did not see her as Jane. How could he? Jessica was pretty sure there was only one her in the world and it was hard to find anyone with a personality as snarky or sarcastic...at least she prided herself on it. As much as she prided herself on anything really. "Sometimes I surprise myself," Jessica replied simply, shrugging her shoulders. "Like I said, you're not the worst."

He grinned at Jessica's words, "Oh, I am certain there is someone who has deemed you the life of the party." He wasn't exactly sure who that someone happened to be, but there had to be someone. Right? Maybe. Maybe that person could be Jesse, who knew?

He definitely didn't see Jessica as Jane, so there was that. There could only be one Jessica in the world, right? Just because the two looked identical didn't mean they were identical in personality. Looks did not equal personality. But that didn't mean he couldn't like Jessica and enjoy spending time with her. He liked her sarcasm and her snark, and he liked the fact that she admitted to liking him. In her own way.

"You're not the worst, either," he decided, with a grin. "You like whiskey, you willingly spend time with me. All good things in my book."

"I've been thrown out of bars, but no one has ever deemed me the life of the party. Maybe the drunk of the the party though," Jessica replied, shrugging her shoulders before reaching for her whiskey and taking a sip. There was always the part of her that wanted to simply down the entire thing, feel the rush of it all sooner, but she pushed herself to simply keep sipping at it for the time being.

At his words, Jessica actually gave him a wane smile. "I'll take that as a compliment actually," she replied. "And anyone that doesn't like whiskey isn't really someone worth talking to."

Jesse had to laugh at Jessica's words, "Well, we can both be the drunk of the party. The party needs more than one, you know." He grinned at the woman beside him, and took yet another sip of his whiskey. He was rather fond of this particular beverage. He could drink it all the time, if he could. But, of course, he couldn't.

Or could he?

"I completely agree. Whiskey is a wonderful drink. If you didn't like it, well, I don't think I would like you nearly as much as I do." He smiled at her once more, and motioned toward the bartender. "I think we need all the whiskey," he informed him. "At least, until you deem it necessary to cut us off."

"I can handle that role," Jessica replied. "With flying colors actually." Jessica had been tossed out of more than a few bars in Hell's Kitchen. It wasn't fun, obviously, especially if you ended up in a pile of trash. That was the worst.

At Jesse's comment, Jessica gave him a smirk. "If you didn't like whiskey, I know I wouldn't like you nearly as much." She watched, impressed when Jesse said they needed all the whiskey...until someone deemed it necessary to cut them off. "I can drink to that." She raised her glass.

"Well. Being the drunk of the party is far superior to being the druggie of the party. Or the druggie and drunk of the party. That one's hard to accomplish, but not impossible." He hadn't done drugs since his arrival in Madison Valley, which was quite the accomplishment itself. Mainly it was because he didn't quite know where to get said drugs. But he found he didn't miss it as much as he thought he would.

"We're going to get as shitfaced as possible," he decided. "At least, as shitfaced as the bartender allows. Perhaps if we tip well, he'll allow us to drink as much as we want." He eyed the bartender for a moment, "I'd try flirting with him to get more alcohol, but I think neither of us swing that way."

For all her flaws (and Jessica did have a shit ton of them), being a drug addict had never been one. Trish had been addicted to drugs at one point or another, but Jessica had never fallen prey to it. It wasn't as if she wasn't consumed by her other vice though. Everyone had something. "I've never done drugs," Jessica replied honestly. "But everyone has something. Mine is alcohol. Yours sounds like a combo deal."

"A good tip will go a long way," she remarked, nodding toward the bartender who did look rather grumpy for all intents and purposes. "But no. He's not my type in the least. He looks like he has a permanent stick up his ass."

"Mine was definitely a combo deal," he agreed. "Pot, mostly, but I did spend a little bit of time with meth and heroin." He wasn't opposed to the pot again, but he knew that meth and heroin was definitely going to send him spiraling down into a deep, deep... problem. "I even learned how to make the purest meth I could come up with." With the help of Walter White. Walter White was the one who helped him ensure the meth was as pure as it possibly could get.

He leaned in toward Jessica, his voice dropping to a dramatic whisper, "I don't think he really cares. He's a grumpy pants." He grinned, and had to laugh when the bartender shot him a look. "Oh, don't look at me like that, you know you're a grumpy pants."

Jessica's neighbor, Malcolm, had been a drug addict. He'd been turned on to it by Kilgrave in order to take pictures of her. It was sick, but Kilgrave had little to no regard for human life aside from what he could do to make his own life better. He'd used Malcolm to to aid in his obsession with Jessica. Jessica eventually managed to sober Malcolm, but it took a lot of time.

"I'm not one for drugs," Jessica reiterated again. "I guess it's because I saw firsthand what they did to Trish and to my neighbor." It was still an uphill battle for Trish to remain sober everyday. "But it isn't the worst way to make a living." Not that Jessica supported it, but there were worst things than dealing drugs.

When he leaned in and called the bartender a grumpy pants, Jessica actually laughed because the bartender was so a grumpy pants. "You are so a grumpy pants," Jessica emphasized, raising her glass towards him.

"See?" Jesse asked with a grin. "Even Jessica thinks you're a grumpy pants." There was a soft laugh from the man, and he took another sip of his whiskey. "The only thing that would make up for it, kind sir, is a few shots of tequila." Yes, that would definitely help with the bartender being grumpy. It would, at least, make them not care that the bartender was grumpy.

Not that Jesse particularly cared at the moment, either way. As long as he continued to keep them well provided with alcohol. That was what mattered here, at Lou's. Being provided with alcohol.

"And Jessica," he said, focusing on her once more. "I will not hold your not being one for drugs against you. I am trying something new here, something new for me at least. It's called getting drunk instead of getting drunk and high. It's working well for me so far."

The bartender actually complied with Jesse's suggestion...of course he did hold out the tip jar which Jessica added a few dollars to just to keep the tension between the three of them at a minimum. As familiar as she was with getting kicked out of a bar, she did exactly want to experience it on a night as cold as this. "You're a grumpy, pushy pants, but here is you three bucks to buy your McDonalds with at the end of your shift," she replied sarcastically, taking up the tequila shot, toasting Jesse in their success and then downing it almost immediately.

Jesse focused in on her again and Jessica turned her green eyes upon him. His comment actually earned him a rare smile from Jessica and she nodded. "Well, Jesse, here is to trying something new...with someone new." She raised her glass.

"I think his name is actually Grumpy McPushypants," Jesse decided, tossing a few dollars into the tip jar as well. But then the bartender complied, and provided them with tequila and whiskey. That was definitely a plus. He would have become a grumpy pants himself had the bartender not done so.

Jesse raised his glass in return, then downed the alcohol within the glass. He was perfectly okay with getting merely drunk, instead of drunk and high. Especially with someone like Jessica Jones. He decided he was fond of the woman.

And he was glad she was not Jane.
