The idea of being a vegetarian with the life she led was a joke. The group couldn’t get food most of the time, but then to have to cut out meat from the diet, Lorna would be screwed. “No, big fan of eating whatever the hell I want.” She replied before ordering herself almost the same just changing the shake to vanilla.
Lorna waited until the waitress was out of the line of earshot before turning her attention back to Cassie. “Okay, I couldn’t figure out how some people seem all alright with this whole shit show, but good to know some are still not completely comfortable with it.” Maybe people learned to just accept it like some mutants had learn to accept they were never going to be welcomed in the world, but she wasn’t that type of person. No, she was a fighter and if this place though it’d break her, then it had another thing coming. Lorna caught the fact Cassie made at the name Nick, raising an eyebrow, but she knew what it felt like to have people prying for information. If Cassie wanted to talk about this Nick, she could, but Lorna wasn’t going to push on that. Bad enough some of her questions might make the girl uncomfortable without the Nick ones.
“You may not have your Division, but this place could bring anyone from my organization at any point in time. There are a few people in that organization who are much worse than others.” Lorna left out the part about how it could also bring people from other groups like the purifiers or the long list of others who hated mutants. Sitting back in the chair, Lorna pulled one leg up on the booth with her. “How does this place hurt you and fuck you up? Yeah, well most people tend to find it’s easier to run from me than deal with me.” Expect for a few people who were now either dead or weren’t on the same side as her anymore, hating her probably for what she did, but she did what was needed for their kind.
