It was a good day, despite everything going on; Hermann was lucky in that he had a job in a business that did not have an atmosphere or patronage affected by the murders. Everybody needed the bank whether or not there were murders going on.
He had finished eating early on his lunch break and so he was taking the rest of the time to walk around town a small bit. Despite the injury to his leg when he was younger, he tried to walk as much as he could -- it took him longer to get places, a lot longer in some cases, but he was a proud man. While he would accept help, though most times reluctantly, he refused to be completely reliant on the aid of other people. He was permanently injured, not a child.
He would be the first to admit that he had to stop occasionally, though, that he could tell what kind of day he was having by how frequently he had to stop and let his leg relax. Today wasn't a bad day, this was the first time he'd had to step over to the side so as not to get in the way of somebody on the way to actually run an errand of some sort. And so he was actually in a fairly decent mood as he stood there for a moment, leaning against the building.
