It was all so strange to experience still. Back in Sunnydale, Buffy would have never believed she have such an opportunity like this ever. The chance to do something so mundane and normal like shopping for fall decorations was out of reach; an impossibility in the wake of another "big bad" showing up in town or "The First" rearing its ugly, evil presence. Not in Madison Valley though. Here, Buffy could do all the shopping she wanted and there was no one she would rather go shopping with than Spike. It would be an adventure of sorts for both of them and Buffy enjoyed experiencing all of these new, different moments with him. It was a gift; the kind of gift she did not think she would ever have.
With his leather duster settled around her shoulders to keep a hint of the fall chill away, Buffy paused outside a window, peering inside at what the store had to offer in the way of decorations. She personally wanted something festive, but not "over-the-top" and gaudy to look at. She was all for adding in a few small pumpkins, a scarecrow even, and obviously fall china of some sort. Despite thinking he probably had little interest in any of these things, he was the one to point something interesting as they rounded on a small candle shop and stopped to peer in through the windows.
Buffy was impressed at his find and found herself genuinely conflicted between the two options presented to her. Battle weaponry? That was easy, but give the slayer a choice between two different kinds of candles? Yeah, that was a stumper and a half. She studied them both for a moment more before turning her green eyes upon her husband beside her. He was dressed very "human-like" today with jeans and a long white shirt; the only hint of his former attire was his combat boots and the long duster he'd placed around her shoulders when they'd first started out. "Can I honestly say I would have an easier time choosing between weaponry?" Buffy replied innocently, a playful smile on her lips.
