WHO: Madge Undersee and OPEN
WHAT: Taking a walk
WHEN: This morning
WHERE: Downtown
WARNINGS: TBD
STATUS: Open/Ongoing

Madge was miserably pregnant. The baby was due any time and she had never felt bigger, heavier, or more disgusting. She was very excited at the prospect of finally being a mother, but she was also very, very done with being pregnant.

She'd heard rumors that sometimes walking could induce labor, and since she'd tried just about everything else, this morning she was out for a walk, going early before it got too hot. It was still muggy, though, and rather unpleasant. Regardless, it did feel good to get out and stretch her legs, even if she was waddling more than she was walking.

After walking a little ways, she sat on a bench to catch her breath and rest for a little while. More than anything, she really, really, wanted to meet her baby, and start their lives together. She just wished that it would get the idea and decide it was ready to come into the world.

If there was anyone who understood being pregnant and yes feeling very pregnant too, it was Padme. She'd been pregnant with twins and yes, she remembered feeling more heavier and bigger than she'd ever been in her entire life. Of course all those sorts of feelings were overshadowed more so by how happy she was to have the opportunity to be a mother and for Anakin to be the wonderful father she knew he could be.

That morning found her wandering about Madison Valley, pondering if she should head to the store for anything or perhaps visit with Luke for a bit. Spotting Madge, someone she'd spoken to on the internet about pregnancy a few months ago, she decided to walk over and ask how she was doing. It was obvious the young woman was very pregnant and no doubt looking forward to the ending and her life with the child to finally start. "Good morning," Padme greeted, offering the young woman a smile.

“Good morning,” Madge replied, her smile warm and friendly. If there was exhaustion around the edges, that certainly wasn’t Padme’s fault. Pregnancy hadn’t heen all that easy for Madge. There hadn’t been anything life threatening, or anything like that, but it had zapped her energy more than usual. She’d been exhausted, probably because of the nearly life-ending injuries she'd suffered before arriving here in Madison Valley. She’d worried that she wouldn’t be able to carry the baby to term, abd was glad that she'd been proven wrong in that respect.

“How are you? Well, I hope.”

She put her hand gently on her belly. “I don’t think it’s going to be much longer.”

Having experienced moments of exhaustion like that herself in the same situation, Padme understood. For her, it was more of a worry about the stress level her job as Senator created because of all the changes going on in the political body. Changes she was very much against and unfortunately, couldn't do anything about.

"I'm doing good," Padme replied softly. Yes, it was obvious that it would not be long till Madge had her baby. "No, it doesn't look like it. How are you doing?"

"I'm very tired," she said. "But I've been very tired my entire pregnancy." It wasn't anything new. She wasn't any more tired than she had been from the beginning. So she guessed it wasn't that big of a deal. Or at least, it shouldn't have been a very big deal. Women had babies all the time, right? And she was sure that most of them were tired.

"I almost died before I got here. My home was bombed and I was left in the rubble. I barely made it, and it just...scares me. That maybe something inside of me was broken and would hurt the baby."

She was feeling relief though, now. If something were going to happen to the baby, surely it would have by now.

At the response about being tired, Padme nodded sympathetically. "Tired is definitely part of it. I know how that feels," she replied. Before the pregnancy, she'd been tired too, but that was mostly because of the stress of being a senator. Governmental change was in the air and though she attempted to stop it, she wasn't enough of a force to. Democracy wasn't working, people had lost hope in the process, and the casualty was liberty itself.

"Oh God. That's awful," Padme replied, a hand coming to her mouth briefly at the statement. "I wouldn't blame you at all for being scared about it. That's a trauma not just to your body, but your emotional well being."

"Yes, although I don't know if it was really any worse than just living in Panem day to day."

It wasn't like life had been good. Dying quickly in a bombing was better than starving to death, even if she'd never really been in danger of that. She'd been rich by District 12 standards. Not that anyone in the Capitol would ever have realized it.

"They say walking will induce labor. And moonlight. And a thousand different foods. I've tried it all. Nothing actually works."

Panem. Padme had heard more than a few people reference that place and yes, speak of how bad it was to live in everyday. Having been gifted with a good life by her world's standards, Padme had never experienced the hardships that many others on different worlds had. Outside of her visits places, her experience was limited.

"I've heard of a few people mention that place and how bad it was," Padme replied, shaking her head. "I am sorry you and they had to live in such a bad circumstance." At the mention of all the ways to induce labor, Padme found herself smiling. "I remember some of those from my days pregnant," she replied.
