While Sarissa had tried to stay away from the magical community as much as she could when she was growing up, she'd always been fascinated by wizards. They had a very different sort of magic than what she was used to in the Winter Court. It was clunkier and required more preparation, but when used effectively... ...well, there were reasons why faerie mothers used horror stories of the wizards to keep their children in line. If you don't behave, the Wardens will come find you. Sarissa's own mother hadn't used that on her. Queen Mab was scary enough in herself without having to bring the Wardens into it. But Sarissa had heard the stories, and had been interested all the same. The wizards in Hogsmeade were very different than what she was used to. Magic was used casually and harmlessly, from the jumping chocolate to the flying brooms to the owls that brought the post. Sarissa was having a great time exploring the little town, and had purchased a book to bring back and read. Unfortunately, the book was quite feisty, and kept trying to break free of her grasp. "All right, that's enough," she told the book, which chomped impatiently at her. "Stay still, or I'll take you back to the shop." |
