Ed wasn't the best at making friends-but in the last few weeks he'd met more new people than he had in a couple years. Somewhere he hoped Al was proud. He wasn't great at letting people get closer than arms length, but he was trying. He no longer had Al there to tell him to do things, or to be that person to drag him out. If he didn't go out, he would continue to be alone and miserable like he was today. He was tired of feeling miserable. He invited Klara over. He wasn't entirely sure what to do with that, he didn't have anything planned but maybe she wouldn't mind it anyway.

He had set the flowers up in a small basic vase even though she claimed they'd never die, he'd never seen flowers that didn't nee water to live. He didn't just trust magic yet, he didn't know that was a thing. Al had mentioned something about it sure, but he hadn't seen it for his own self awareness yet.

The blonde alchemist hadn't done much to decorate the place, it looked pretty plain and even a little sad how bare it was. But he didn't know about that stuff. He'd never actually had his own place to worry about.

Klara showed up bearing a pot of soup and a smile as bright as a sunflower. Klara was one of those easily happy people, though when she hit a dark patch she could be very dark and gloomy. It was best that she rarely was in those moods.

She was gentle, kind, and friendly and really wanted people around her to be happy. Which meant bringing foods and bringign flowers and being there for them when she knew they were down.

She knocked softly upon the door, smiling softly. "Hey"

Ed didn't know what to think of Klara yet. She seemed nice enough, but he'd not really been in the greatest mood lately. He'd been in a bit of a rut, first the thinking he was dead and then losing his brother again and being dead. It was all a bit complicated and tiring trying to keep up with it. He was tired of keeping up with it at all, and wanted to at least try to be a little less miserable, so he'd invited over a friend of Al's. Maybe just being in someone's presence that knew his brother would help somewhat. Secretly, he'd wanted Ian to come over too- but not while he was still miserable again. It wasn't Ian's job to make sure he was happy or eating (he wasn't doing either of those things.) It wasn't anyone's job but his.

At the knock, the young blonde teen opened the door and stepped aside. "Hey." Rubbing awkwardly at his neck he smiled a bit. "Sorry, it isn't super exciting here..." He glanced at the thing she brought, trying to figure out what exactly it was.

He currently had his metal limbs covered by black long sleeves and black pants, but he'd forgotten about his foot. It was wide out in the open, very detailed and very steel looking. One of them anyway, the left one was metal. No flesh to be found. It was as detailed as a flesh foot though, all the same working bits. "What's that?" He asked as he looked at the pot of liquid again.

Klara waved a hand, "don't apologize. You only recently arrived and see in a slump. No one expects a place to be exciting. My home is only full of life because I've decked the entire place out with plants."

She'd glanced down, noted his foot then stuffed it away. She'd seen some incredible things in her life, not to mention she made plants grow and could speak to them, certainly some things got to her but most did not. Klara was an expert in rolling with it.

"Soup. An old family recipe from my home in Switzerland. Well changed enough to fit modern ingredients. More available here than in the early 1900's." She smiled warmly. Klara was unrelenting in her kindness.

That brand of kindness wasn't something Ed was used to. Was she expecting something in return? He didn't really have anything to give her except an attempt at friendship. He reached out to take the soup from her, it looked pretty heavy. "I was going to see Switzerland before I came here." Well, they were going to see the world. Switzerland included, but it was close to where they had been. "My brother wanted to." He wanted to see everything, do everything. They'd finally had a chance..and now Ed was somewhere far away again. That was a depressing thought.

He gave a quiet sigh as he set the soup down on the counter top near by. "..It's hard here." He didn't know if he liked it, actually he really didn't just yet. The only thing he liked about it was Ian. ian made it easier, without him Ed would be completely lost.

"You grew up then too?" It surprised him just how many of them were out of time.

She expected nothing but friendship. Even then she didn't expect, only hoped. She smiled warmly at him. "It is a beautiful place." She said softly, "I miss it even if home life wasn't very good." She shrugged a bit as she stepped further inside.

"It is. This place is too modern, too weird. But it does get better! I am grateful for the friends I've made here. They are people I never would have known at home." Except perhaps she'd have met Phil. She knew Kate Bishop and co, after all

"I was born in the late 1890's, I was perhaps 14 when I was brought through time to the 2000's. Not ask that long ago, really." She said softly.

"Anywhere was better than Germany." Nazi's and government corruption was all Ed had been able to see while he was there. It was half of the reason he intended to travel and see more, but of course those plans were now off the table. He wondered if this place effected that place. What if Al was alone now?..That part he hadn't considered, and his brows furrowed in concern as he offered Klara a place to sit while he got out a couple bowls for soup. Assuming she was going to be eating with him.

"Have you met Bucky and Steve?" The two out of time soldiers? They seemed nice enough, and hell apparently had a ton in common. He began to fill the bowls with soup, even though he wasn't really that hungry. She'd brought him something, he wasn't that much of an asshole not to at least try it.

"Do you use your television?" He wondered if he was the only one who'd considered it to be just an ugly decoration to hang clothes on.

She sat down and tucked into the soup herself. She was content to eat, too, because while she never went hungry here the habit of eating when there was food never went away.

"Oh, No I haven't! My guardian here knows them, though, I think. Phil Coulson." she said after a moment of thought. "But I haven't really met many people." not indepth, anyway, she met a lot of people, and befriended only a few of them.

"I... I do not. It is a little overwhelming." she said lightly.
