Beth was very, very glad that the last few days were over and that the monster seemed to be gone for good. She wasn't a fan of monsters, and she was even less a fan of people she cared about getting attacked by them. She really wished that Madison Valley would just get over itself. In the time she'd been here, lots of strange things had happened, but it seemed like things had just gotten stranger lately, and the weirdness and taken a turn to the cruel. Which seemed like a new thing.
Today, though, she was meeting Ella for lunch. She liked the other woman, and she'd kind of been getting to know her better the more time she'd spent at the Pack House. She was a lot like Beth, really, in that they always seemed to be able to find the silver lining in any situation. Hanging out with her was always uplifting.
The Downtowner was a nice, trendy sort of restaurant that served soup and sandwiches and catered to a classier clientele than Hinkles did. That wasn't why she'd come here, but the food did settle better on her stomach than greasy burgers did.
When she saw Ella enter just a few moments after her, she smiled and waved from the table. This would be a good way to clear her mind of all the terrible memories of the last few days.
