Who: Adrian Ivashkov and Raven Darkholme
What: Meeting for a drink and possibly more
When: Sunday evening
Where: Lou's
Warnings: TBD
Status: Closed, ongoing

Things had not been going well for Adrian since arriving in Madison Valley. Rose was here and she was still hung up on Belikov, and still being kind of a heartless bitch about cheating on him and leaving him. The few friends he had here were all freaking him out by insisting (over and over) that was married to Sage. An alchemist, of all people! It was both ridiculous and terrifying, and as a result he'd felt the need to avoid them too.

The town was small and therefore the social circles rather constricted. At least if he was going to keep to moroi girls as he usually did at home. Sure, there were plenty of human (or human-like) girls, but they were off-limits. There were some things even he wouldn't do.

But as he had found out on the network yesterday, there were other options. It turned out that there were many people here (including some very beautiful girls) who weren't moroi, but weren't human either. There were all kinds of supernatural and superhuman people, of types that Adrian had never imagined. That fascinated him. Especially the woman he was meeting tonight.

He arrived a Lou's about ten minutes late- fashionably late, and Adrian was nothing if not fashionable. He wore designer jeans, a perfectly tailored shirt, leather jacket, and his hair was carefully styled to appear perfectly flatteringly messy, as usual. He casually looked around as he walked up to the bar, wondering if she was here yet.

Raven opted to meet Adrian in her typical blonde guise. He hadn't seemed to mind her natural form when he saw the picture on the network, but she preferred to keep this meeting low key and she was far less likely to attract attention this way than if she was blue. If things went well and they went back to one of their places, he could pick how he wanted her to look.

By the time Adrian walked in, she was already done with her first glass of whiskey and starting her second. He was attractive in person, moreso than in his photograph, but also appeared younger than she was expecting. Not that age mattered too much to her. One of the benefits of her mutation was that she didn't appear to age the way normal humans did.

She lifted one hand to catch his attention, figuring he'd join her at the table after getting his own drink.

He smiled and nodded in her direction to indicate he had seen her. He hadn't known what to expect. He didn't mind the blue form she'd used at first in her picture on the network, but her appearance now was absolutely gorgeous.

One he had his drink he came and sat down at her table. "Raven? It's a pleasure. You're even more beautiful in person. How rude of me that I wasn't here in time to get your drink. You must allow me to buy the next one." Presumably there would be several. He hoped so, anyway. He usually needed several drinks to get though the night.

"I won't argue with that," Raven said. She flashed him a smile, glad she'd decided to go for a top with a plunging neckline to go with her short skirt and knee high boots. It was the style she frequently wore before they'd gotten involved with the CIA and she started to adopt the Mystique persona.

She took a sip from her drink. "So tell me about you."

Her low top and short skirt certainly hadn't gone unnoticed by Adrian. He was quite enjoying her current form, whether it was natural or not.

"Tell you about me? Oh good, that's one of my favorite subjects." It wasn't really, but that's what most people back home would expect Adrian Ivashkov to say. They expected him to be self-centered, empty-headed and vain, and he so hated to disappoint them that he generally lived down to their expectations.

"Hmm, well, I'm new in town. Been here a couple of weeks. I already mentioned the whole vampire thing." He said breezily, as if this was no big deal. "But don't worry, I promise I won't bite. Not like that, anyway." He said with a wolfish grin.

If he wanted to bite, Raven probably wouldn't argue. Pain didn't bother her as much as it did some people. "That's open for negotiation," she said with an exaggerated wink.

"How are you finding the town?" she asked.

Adrian smiled back at her wink. "I should have said, not unless you want me to." Because he was definitely open to biting. And more.

"The town...well, let's just say it's not New York or L.A. and I'm more of a city boy." He also spent time in rural Pennsylvania at the Moroi court, but that only ~seemed rural to outsiders. As the center of Moroi life it actually had a lot of entertainment options to offer for someone like him.

"I spent some time in big cities," Raven said. "They are far easier to blend in to." Which was important for someone like her. Plus they were less boring. After spending the bulk of her childhood in upstate New York, she preferred some action.

He definitely didn't seem like the type to appreciate small towns. "At least the town isn't dry."

"Yes, exactly." He mainly liked cities for the increased entertainment choices (and greater selection of women), but blending in was important for him too. It made it harder for strigoi to find them.

"Thank god for that!" He said, lifting his drink. "Cheers." He finished the drink in one swallow and then signaled to the bar tender for another round for both of them.

"So, now you go. Tell me something about you." He said with a seductive purr leaning in closer.

Raven wasn't really sure what to share. There were a lot of things she wasn't prepared to talk about at all, primarily her activities with the Brotherhood, and he already knew her big thing with her mutation.

"Well, I ran away from home pretty young," she said. "And was lucky to meet someone else with special abilities who brought me into his family." Charles was really the only family she'd had for most of her life and she was glad that they were on better terms here. "Do you have any brothers or sisters?"

"Alas, no, there's only one of me." He said sarcastically. Thank god his parents didn't have any other children. He wouldn't wish them on his worst enemy. Particularly his father.

"But I do have a larger, and somewhat powerful, extended family." His aunt wa s queen after all. Or rather, had been queen until she was recently murdered.

The mention of a powerful family caught her attention and she was ready to ask more questions about that when she realized that it didn't matter. His family wasn't here and they obviously weren't from the same world, so knowing about his family couldn't really benefit her in any way.

She took a long drink and emptied her glass. "How have you been amusing yourself here?" she asked.

He shrugged. "Well, mostly I haven't. I haven't found it terribly amusing, until now." The truth is that he'd been bored out of his mind. "Drinking, I suppose." He answered and took another drink. He'd tried to limit his drinking because he didn't want Jailbait to be too heavily affected.

"So what do you do for fun in this town.?"

"Hang out in bars and meet interesting people," Raven said. "And sometimes taking them home."

Which she would be happy to do now if Adrian was so inclined.

"Oh really?" Adrian smiled at that. "Well, that would be more entertaining than just drinking." Of course that's where he hoped this was going.

"In fact, I bet I could make tonight pretty entertaining for you." He said with a grin. He was just the right amount of drunk for this- cocky and uninhibited, but not sloppy.

Raven grinned back. "You know, I have a pretty strong feeling that you could," she agreed. "Should we get out of here?"

"Absolutely. What are we still doing here?" He threw some money on the table to pay for their drinks. The thousand dollars they gave him wasn't going to last forever, but while it did he was going to spend it on the things that really mattered. Like alcohol and women.

"Your place or mine?"

It didn't matter to her where they want. "Your choice," she said. "Either is fine by me."

The apartment they had given was small, sparsely furnished, and not really up to his standards. It was private, so it would do in a pinch, but he thought he'd rather go to her place. Besides, that made for an easier getaway in the morning.

"How about your place? You don't have roommates or anything, do you?"

"No, just me," Raven said. Her place wasn't really any better, but she figured the decor hardly mattered. This was why she refused to move in with Charles though. "Let's go."
