Being in Madison Valley the past few months had been a series of ups and downs. Having a relationship with Derek and her fledgling relationship with Chris Argent were some of the ups. Peter leaving and Cora apparently hating her were some of the downs. She didn’t understand why Cora hated her, but she’d accepted it. It broke her heart, but there was nothing she could do to change it except hope that her daughter came around. And when it came down to it, that was her decision to make.
She had other things to fill her time than to worry about a difficult beta that just happened to be her daughter. She was old enough to make her own choices, and if she didn’t want a relationship, Talia wasn’t going to force one down her throat.
This evening, Talia was spending time at the library. The quiet was easy on a werewolf’s sensitive ears, and because of that, it was a good place for her to work. The fire had convinced her that the history of the Hales, and the secrets of their pack needed to be written down, saved somewhere, so that they wouldn’t be lost if something like the fire happened again. And as long as there were hunters, that possibility existed.
She had spread her notes out all over the table, and was working diligently, trying to preserve hundreds of years of history for future generations.

Diana was still feeling a little unsettled after the news Thor had given her recently. She found herself missing her mother's wise words and the comfort of her sisters more now than ever before. Cassandra helped, but she wasn't quite enough, not when Diana didn't want to clue her in on exactly what was going on. It didn't take her very long to decide to venture toward the library to see if the historical texts could bring her some peace.
She found a book she thought might help, stories of the Amazons it promised, and went to find a place to sit. As she was moving through the library, Diana passed by a woman at one of the tables, surrounded by notes and clearly lost in her work. The sight of her made Diana smile faintly, thoughts of her mother swirling around at the forefront of her mind.
"Excuse me," she said softly, always respectful of the rules of the library. "I apologize for interrupting, I just- was wondering if I might share your table?" Diana thought perhaps if she could just be in close proximity to the other woman, she'd feel better.
