Magnus hated going to school. It just seemed so pointless. Back home, he was dead. It wasn't like he was going to have to graduate from High School or anything. But the weirdos at Madison Valley wouldn't listen, and insisted that he had to go to school whether he wanted to or not. So he did, because Magnus wasn't the sort to cause problems for no reason. He just didn't care that much.

When he got out of school, he headed straight for Roger's Corner, determined to reward himself with a chocolate malt. He went inside, ordered it, then saw one of the other patrons, and blinked.

"Uh...Thor?"

He'd seen on the network where Thor had somehow been switched into a woman, but actually seeing it in person was a different thing entirely.

	Thor turned and smiled as he saw Magnus. "Magnus! How are you this day?" His voice had every ounce of volume as normal, but was now the low, husky, and very much female. His smile was warm as he moved toward Magnus. He wore a blouse and skirt that showed off some lots of cleavage and leg, and boots that came up nearly to the knee, all in green. For a moment, Magnus just stared. And not necessarily at Thor's legs or cleavage, but at the whole package. Man, was he going to have a story to tell people wh n he got back to Calhalla. If he ever got back.

"So...how did this happen, exactly?"

It wasn't like the changes Alex underwent when some days he was a he and other days she was a she. No, this was something very different.

"Just a random waking up thing. From what I have been told, the dome does this on occasion to random people. Sex swaps, body swaps, age changes, and more. It was just my lucky morning to wake up so."

Thor thought for a moment. "This is the fourth day I have woken this way. Not something I was expecting, or wanting, but with the aid of friends, I have been working to deal with it." Thor could, with help, deal with anything, he felt.

"How have you been?"

Yeah, Magnus had heard about that stuff happening. It was hard not to, in this place. Weird stuff happened all the time and while so far he'd been spared he couldn't help but wonder how long that would last.

"Do you like being a girl?"

He wasn't teasing, he was serious. He'd often wondered what it would be like - if it would be any different really than being a boy. One of those things he never thought he'd get a chance to know...but in Madison Valley, who knew?

Thor considered the question seriously, but shook his head.

"I don't dislike it, but I would rather be as I was. This body is not a bad one, but I like myself as I am normally. Could I adjust if stuck this way? Yes. But I do not wish to. For now, it is merely an adventure, if a surprising and somewhat inconvenient one. But, for better or worse, I am a man, not a woman, and that is what I wish to be."

Thor nodded.

	"Well, usually people switch back, don't they? I mean, eventually?" That was how he understood the situation. They turned into girls or whatever but they didn't stay that way very long. 	Magnus didn't know of anyone who hadn't changed back, so it seemed a pretty sure thing to him. "Fun with it? You mean..." He blushed. He'd been through a lot of things, but he was still a virgin. 	"Or, my death?" He said, but he wasn't upset about it. "Honestly, I'm not sure whether I'm alive or dead here. I guess I'm dead, since that's what I was back home. "YOu did, aye. Very odd to my thoughts. I could not lose Mjonir if I tried."

he touched his hip on the right side and Mjolnir rippled into view briefly, until he let go, and it vanished again. "I taught it to be subtle."

	"They're computer presentations. On a big screen. Really boring. He makes us watch them all the time in Valhalla. I mean, it's a break from the constant battles and stuff, but...yeah." "Yes, please don't. Please," he laughed, finishing up the last of his shake.

"I've got to head out, but I'll see you around, okay?"

He liked talking to Thor. He was a nice guy, and even though he was different from the Thor that Magnus knew, he was still just a little touch of home. At least, when he wasn't a girl. Or maybe that didn't matter. Home could be weird sometimes too.
