It was kind of the opposite for Amaar. He was Muslim first, lawyer second. Distant second. It wasn't even really in the same ballpark anymore. Not for a few years. It wasn't his calling, but it was a job that he knew how to do and wasn't awful at.
Which was more than he could say for being an imam. He was pretty bad at that sometimes. Not so much since his trip to Mecca to reaffirm his faith but he wasn't the wise man they sometimes needed.
