Luna certainly hadn't meant to upset anyone with the post she'd made this weekend. In fact, she'd just been trying to share her feelings of horror about what had happened, and her happiness that they'd managed to get everyone back. Apparently she hadn't done it very well. That happened a lot to her - the things she said ended up confused and misinterpreted. That was what she got for being different.
She'd always been different, and for the most part, it didn't bother her at all. She liked seeing the world differently than everyone else. She knew that people made fun of her for it, but she couldn't be someone she wasn't, not even if it won her friends and popularity. She had to be the girl she was inside.
But sometimes she did get lonely. Sometimes she craved someone to talk to who really got her, someone she could talk to about all the strange ideas that flitted around her mind. It was an old yearning, one she'd had for most of her life, and she didn't expect it to be fulfilled any time soon.
So instead of worrying herself over her loneliness, she was sitting in the park, reading the Madison Courier. It wasn't nearly as interesting as the Quibbler, and the pictures didn't even move (how did they get people to sit still for so long?), but it passed the time, and she could keep herself up on what was going on.
She heard someone approach, and looked up, her demeanor cheery even though her feelings weren't exactly matching it.
"Hello! Good morning!"
