She had made similar assurances to her husband as well, because she knew without a doubt he loved and card for her. He had done all he could. They both had. Ella was grateful for their love and fondness of her, but she still did not quite believe she was deserving of it.
It made her angry that he had not gone to see Molly first. The teenager's health and safety was more important to be sure. "I will not keep you from tending to her," Ella replied firmly, pulling away from his embrace. "Captain Rogers and Sergeant Barnes will need your support far more than I do."
