Children believe what they've been told because they've been told it, but a person near maturity or older ought to be able to defend why, I agree, particularly if they've had the benefit of an education. Though it's not feelings that need defending, it's standpoints. Feelings are usually too insubstantial to give much weight to, and the Law bending to someone's emotional whim is part of what we're trying to prevent.
Your restaurant food is all very sweet or salty or oily. It's...interesting, but I wouldn't care to live on it. It might even be what's made me ill.
