We've mostly dealt with it. People live, governments and countries function, so on and so forth. It's not like post-apocalyptic wasteland where I'm from or anything, it's just life plus zombies. And Kellis-Amberlee infects all mammals, and over 40 pounds they can amplify, not just predators. We don't have many large predators anymore, actually, because the virus did a number on their food source. I just haven't seen, for example, a cow, without proper protocols being in place, and you can't just order hamburgers.
Most reservoir conditions manifest if you're exposed to live virus before being large enough to actually zombify. I was little enough I don't remember. I can see, but I have no tear film and my eyes are dialated all the time, so I have to wear my glasses or contacts at all times. My low-light vision is outstanding, though. Some small compensation for the horrific migraines if I'm exposed to more than 20 watts of light.
