WHO: Briseis and OPEN
WHAT: Shopping on the day before Thanksgiving
WHEN: Wednesday morning
WHERE: Kroger (A grocery store)
STATUSWARNINGS: TBD
Briseis had heard from many different people speak of an upcoming holiday, and as she faced the crowded grocery store, she saw very clearly that something was happening. In her hand she carried a little basket, but even without one of the huge carts that most people had, there was barely room for her to pass between the hundreds of people frantically collecting their foodstuffs for the holiday.
Cuthbert had already brought her to the grocery once, and she mentally thanked him for it. She would have been so lost, and even more terrified had he not explained the way the store worked to her, explained how to pay, and explained that yes, she was allowed to purchase anything that looked appealing to her. He was a kind boy, it was true, and perhaps the most helpful of all she had met here so far.
She supposed that such a market should not be frightening to her, but it was. There were so many people, and so many things the like of which she had never seen before. She stood gaping for a moment at all the different and colorful fruits and vegetables, before selecting a single red fruit called an apple. It was so pretty it almost had to be delicious.
Food had been scarce in Greece and Troy in Briseis' day. Their land was not particularly fertile, and their farming techniques...obviously did not hold a candle to those of this day. The sea yielded a good deal of their food, and honey was plentiful...but here it looked like there was more food than would have fed all of Achilles' vast army!
Making her way down the aisle, looking a little dazed and more than a little frightened, she didn't notice the cart behind her as she stook a step back, nearly tripping as she struggled to right herself.
"Oh, please forgive me, I'm so terribly sorry!"
