Harry was right. Of course he was. He always was. She needed to get her shit together about this Winter thing, and soon. She was turning into a major bitch, and she really didn't want to be channeling Maeve quite this early in her time as Winter Lady. Actually, she didn't want to do it at all, but she certainly seemed to be heading in that direction.
Of course, Molly had never been the sweet little angel her father had always wanted her to be. She'd been on trial with the White Council - and ALMOST lost her head over it - when she was only seventeen years old. Then there'd been her time as the Rag Lady, where she'd hardly been a respectable citizen either. But there was a difference between being what she'd been (an admittedly screwed up person who at least had good intentions) and an evil bitch. She really didn't want to cross that line.
Which meant she was going to have to work extra hard to be nice. To control the Winter impulses before they got the best of her. And she knew she could do it if she just put a little effort into it. She wasn't good with people in person so much, but the network in this town made it easy to make an impression on people without being near enough to them that their emotions would handicap her.
It was a good deal. And something she needed to get started on right away.
She got her pumpkin spice latté (extra whipped cream, mmm), and went to sit down with the newspaper. It wasn't that she was actually reading it, but it was nice to have something that discouraged people from talking to you. She didn't particularly like to be bugged when she was just trying to enjoy her coffee.
She took a deep breath, feeling more energized this morning than she had in a long while. It made sense as soon as she looked at the front page of the paper and noticed that they were in for a rather large Winter Storm. Boreas. When did they start naming Winter Storms? Anyway, she could feel it coming, and she could feel it singing throughout her. She smiled as she took a sip of her coffee.
"I had nothing to do with this one either, Harry," she muttered. "But that sure doesn't mean I'm not going to enjoy it. In a...less bitchy way, of course."
