Gar knew that he could just roam the place as a normal human being. Something that he didn't mind doing. That did not, however, mean he didn't want to explore the place a bit more. Even if it meant going as some other creature. He could still tap into the Red and he was grateful for that. So, he leaves a note for Dick to let him know he was going out.

He'd grabbed a backpack and put food in it. So, when he headed out near the patch of trees he hid and allowed himself to shift, clothes going into the pack. He doesn't fly too far away from it but does fly around before landing in a tree. His animal form is a bit unassuming save for the green color. There's a sound that he hears and those eyes look toward whomever the guy was.

Last thing he expected was some stranger. Of course, he cants his head watching the guy. No, I'm not like you've ever seen before. Not that he thinks the guy can hear him, but he didn't know who could hear animals and who couldn't. Or who could (or could not) read minds. That does not, however, mean that bird doesn't move from the branch for a moment watching the other.
